The Kai story!

I was really sick for a couple weeks in February. Instead of the doctor seeing me, she just said to take a home pregnancy test. So after a quick run to the store, 2 pink lines showed up on a test. I sat there looking at the test in shock. It wasn't a surprise but at the same time it was. I called Joe into the room and showed him the test and started crying. 

I could not believe the reason I was sick was because my little man was camped out and starting to grow. 

We went a ran a few errands, I honestly can't remember now what they were and when we went back home I took another test to be sure! Yet again, another 2 pretty pink lines. I may have purchased another test a few days later just to triple check! 

The start of our adventure with Kai was a little bumpy cause I felt horrible, but i was so grateful to be carrying a little peanut. 

When we found out at the ultrasound that we were having a boy, the look on Joe's face was pure joy. He was so happy to be getting his boy the first time around! 

As I did with the tests, I made my doctor check every time we had an ultrasound that Kai was still a boy. 

My sister in law Jessica totally made me worried because she said something like "watch him come out a girl." From then on I was paranoid! 

We had all these little boy clothes and had settled on his name and I was so worried he would be a girl and we would have to scramble to pick a new name. I said if he came out a girl, then I would be dressing the baby in boy things just to save money! 

By the end of my pregnancy I was horribly swollen and Kai was sitting in a breech position. I was praying he would turn so I would be able to avoid the doctor turning him or a c section. 

Luckily he did turn but when he did he sat in a position that the doctor said was pinching the blood vessel in there and so I would feel like I was going to pass out all the time. When it got bad I wouldn't be able to feel my arms. 

The last month, my doctor put me on bed rest. It may have been the most boring thing ever. I love being lazy, don't get me wrong, but being told I couldn't do anything made it so I wanted to! 

I laid in bed and watched entire series of a few tv shows and tried to relax. 

Because my swelling was getting worse and my arms were still going numb, my doctor scheduled me to be induced on October 14th. 

I was kind of glad I wouldn't have to sit around wondering when it would happen. I got everything ready in the week before and waited to go to the hospital on that Monday morning.

We were so nervous that it was now so close to Kai joining us!

We became a family of three!!

I thought it might be time to start a blog now that we have Kai. We have been insanely blessed to have him.
I can't promise I will write a lot but I thought this would be a good place to put everything about Kai in one place.
Let's hope I can figure out how to blog properly because I will post an insane amount of pictures. 

When I have time I will write down our Kai story. Kai is sleeping so I should probably try to sleep too!
